Fixed Return Investment

Irish banks have reduced the majority of their deposit rates to zero, with some cash funds charging a negative rate.

In order to protect the value of their funds, investors are moving a portion of their cash deposits to fixed return investments.

These typically provide the following:

  • 6% - 10% annual return

  • Security through first charge on property assets

  • Fixed investment term of typically 2-3 years

If investing through a pension fund these returns are typically exempt from income tax and capital gains tax.
